Total Telecom - EU disappointed with Oracle response in Sun merger probe.
The European Commission said Wednesday it was disappointed with Oracle Corp.'s cooperation in the commission's antitrust probe into the technology company's planned $7.4 billion takeover of Sun Microsystems Inc. Europe's competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes met with Oracle president Safra Catz, said the commission's spokesman for competition, Jonathan Todd. During the meeting she expressed "her disappointment that Oracle had failed to produce, despite repeated requests, either hard evidence that there were no competition problems or a proposal for a remedy to the competition problems identified by the commission," Todd said.
