Che la pratica di scaricare film e musica illegalmente abbia molti adepti non è una novità, ma in Svezia è diventata una vera e propria religione riconosciuta: il Copimismo è stato infatti ufficialmente registrato dopo una battaglia durata due anni. Per la Chiesa del Copimismo, si legge nel sito ufficiale, “l’informazione è santa, e copiarla è un sacramento centrale per l’organizzazione e i suoi membri”. “Essere riconosciuti dallo stato svedese – si legge ancora – è un passo verso il giorno in cui potremo vivere la nostra fede senza la paura di persecuzioni”. Tra i simboli sacri della neonata chiesa ci sono i tasti Ctrl C e Ctrl V, e il ‘culto’ non richiede un ‘battesimo’ formale: “Basta sentire l’atto del copiare e condividere le informazioni come una chiamata sacra – si legge ancora sul sito – per farlo noi organizziamo dei ‘copyacting’, dei servizi religiosi in cui i copimisti condividono le informazioni con gli altri”.
