Chrome trasmette a Google anche gli errori di battitura.

Edgar ci ha guardato un po’ dentro. (nel traffico sulla rete) e scrivera’  un post piu’ approfondito di  questo a breve.

Che un browser debba inviare tutto quello che inserisco nella barra degli indirizzi proprio non mi piace

Mi dice Edgar che se scrivi un indirizzo nella barra, questo viene mandato ai server di Google, errori di battitura compresi. Sono ansioso di leggere il suo approfondimento.

Fosse vero, bisognerebbe concludere che bigG non fa molto per rendersi simpatica…

  1. Come risposto sul mio blog, Firefox invia qualcosa solo quando utilizzi la “search bar” di google e non quando utilizzi la barra URL. Magari mi sono perso qualcosa,ma dovrebbe essere cosí. In ogni caso SilkPerformer registra attivitá solo quando utilizzo la search bar, ma qui mi puó stare anche bene, alla fine e come se utilizzasi Google.com.
    In ogni caso, come ho scritto, é vero che in Google Chrome la funzionalitá é disattivabile, ma qui stiamo parlando di un prodotto che probabilmente verrá utilizzato milioni di persone, molte delle quali neanche sanno cosa sia la barra delle URL. Questa funzionalitá utile o non utile che sia, andrebbe disattivatá di default e fatta attivare solo dagli utenti se lo vogliono.

    Quindi è 8tristemente) vero.
    Inoltre l’uninstall non rimuove tutto e un altro
    dice che gli accende il firewall di continuo (“phones
    home like mad”):

    Poi in molti sostengono (e hanno provato) che c’è
    un unico UID per ogni browser, quindi una profilatura
    completa (c’era un link ad un sito in tedesco che non
    trovo più).
    Quindi per ora da evitare; personalmente aspetto
    estensioni utili e una versione ripulita da queste
    schifezze. (e che diventi multipiattaforma, anche se uno
    diceva che l’hanno codificato quasi harcoded):
